When the Chicago Bears lost to the Green Bay Packers during the second week of the 2022-23 NFL season, it didn’t just cost the Bears in the NFC North standings, it also cost Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson a bit of his dignity.
Before the Week Two game, Johnson made a bet with Canadian soccer player Lauren Sesselmann, who is also a Green Bay Packers fan, that his team would beat the Packers. Ultimately, his team lost 27-10 in a game that was never really all that close.
But being a man of honor, Johnson paid up this week in a hilarious way, donning a Green Bay Packers cheese head during a radio show appearance on 670 The Score.
“I’m a man of honor. So I’m going to put this on, sadly,” Johnson said.
On with @ParkinsSpiegel, #Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson had to wear a cheesehead to pay off a bet with a friend.
"This is terrible," Johnson says. "Nothing about this damn hat is pleasing."

To make matters worse, Johnson revealed that the bet wasn’t even against the spread, even though the Bears were a sizable 10.5-point underdog in the game. For Johnson to win the bet, his team had to win the game straight up.
“At the time, I wasn’t too concerned,” Johnson said on the show. “I felt really good going into the game, and then towards the end, this started coming into my head. I had some last-second regrets. It is what it is. I’m going to bet on me and the guys any day.”
Maybe Johnson will think twice before making a bet like this again.
