The New York Jets are looking to turn things around after the failure that was the Aaron Rodgers experiment. After only two seasons in New York, the first of which saw Rodgers go down for the season on the first possession of the year, the franchise let the veteran quarterback know that his services were no longer needed.

Now, incoming head coach Aaron Glenn is tasked with building out a roster that can get the Jets back into championship contention, and it appears that Glenn doesn’t feel one of Rodgers’ old running mates is what the team needs, per one prominent NFL insider.

Sources: The (Jets) are now taking calls on star WR Davante Adams, open to trading him prior to the start of the league year. No surprise with his $38.2M cap number. If they can’t get a deal, they are expected to release Adams, who could rejoin QB Aaron Rodgers with a new team,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Sunday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Sleeper spot for Rodgers & Adams: Vikings Favre: GB, Jets, Vikings It is written,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Take a pay cut then get ready to learn 10-7 buddy the standard is the standard,” one Pittsburgh Steelers fan tweeted, hopeful that Adams will end up in the Steel City.

“Ravens win the SB if he goes there, they need to do everything they can to make it happen,” one fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Adams ends up and how the Jets will replace his production.
