Just when you thought Geno Smith might be getting his last chance to prove himself to the New York Jets, he could be lost to a torn ACL for the rest of the season.

Smith finally got a chance to start for the Jets after the team made a quarterback change by placing Ryan Fitzpatrick on the bench, leaving former Jets quarterback Joe Namath to question Smith’s ability to even stand on the sideline. Smith’s start did not last for long before leaving the game with a knee injury.

In stepped Fitzpatrick, who fired off a rant aimed at Jets ownership, management and coaches following the win.

The torn ACL news seemed to be a surprise on Monday.

9:29 AM: Jets believe Smith’s knee will be fine…

1:21 PM: Nope…

Now the Jets must continue down this horrible season with a quarterback who has taken shots at everyone who helped to make him a part of the team on a rich contract he clearly does not deserve. This should be fun.
