The New York Jets are the NFL’s last remaining team without a win this season. The Jets brought in former Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to be the team’s new head coach this offseason, and one of the first things Glenn did was let four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers know that his services would no longer be needed by the organization.
The Jets then signed former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields to be the team’s new starter. It’s a move that has not panned out well. Not only did Rodgers and the Steelers beat the Jets in Week One, but things have gotten even worse since then.
While Fields showed promise in the loss to the Steelers, his production has had diminishing returns since, and even resulted in his benching on Sunday for the second half of New York’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.
New York is the only winless team in the NFL, but team owner Woody Johnson is not putting the blame on Glenn’s shoulders. Instead, he is acknowdleding that anyone would struggle to produce results with the way Fields has performed to this point.
“It’s hard when you have a quarterback with the rating that we’ve got. … If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you’re going to see similar results. …If we can just complete a pass, it would look good,” Johnson said of the situation.

Fans reacted to the brutal statement on social media
“As easy as it is to say fields is the problem(he’s apart of it) yall had Aaron Rodgers last year and made him look like he needed to be ole yeller’d He’s with the Steelers and he’s ballin now. This goes far far far beyond the QB. Hell, it goes further than the HC and GM,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“It’s funny because fields went 4-2 as a starter and looked great while doing it last year. Maybe it’s just the Jets,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Jets find a way to turn the season around.
