Today in the always interesting world of the New York Jets, wide receiver Jeremy Kerley met with the media after returning to practice from a four-game PED suspension.

Athletes frequently have a fascinating explanation for a banned substance entering their body, but Kerley may have had the weirdest excuse yet.

When asked how the tainted supplement got into his system, Kerley reportedly told the media, “I don’t know, a lot of ghosts around here. Ghost put it in. You know the ghost of Christmas past.”

This is probably not what happened, but we’ll at least applaud the creativity of his explanation.

Kerley has 22 receptions for 217 yards and one touchdown in eight games for the Jets this season. The New York Daily News reported on Wednesday that Kerley’s future with the Jets is uncertain.
