The past few months have been incredibly somber for Hall of Fame quarterback and former Denver Broncos GM John Elway following the tragic death of his longtime agent Jeff Sperbeck in April. But fortunately, Elway recently received word that he will not be charged in the unfortunate accident.
Sperbeck passed away back on April 26 in La Quinta, California when he fell from a golf cart that Elway was driving. According to Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, Sperbeck was standing on the back of the golf cart when he fell off and hit his head.
While the tragic accident was obviously incredibly unfortunate, it has been deemed that Elway is not in any way responsible for Sperbeck’s death.
On Friday, Chad Bianco spoke to 9 News in Denver about the incident, explaining that there was “nothing criminal” about the accident and that Elway would not be charged in the case.
“It’s over,” said Bianco on Friday. “We’ve talked to everyone involved and we found nothing new. There was nothing criminal. It was what we’ve been saying all along that this was a tragic accident.”

Hopefully, Elway can now find a way to get past this horrific incident and put his mind at ease about the death of his longtime associate, who managed him starting all the way back in 1990.
