Travis Hunter

While he’s undoubtedly one of the most talented football players to ever take the field, there are still massive amounts of uncertainty surrounding former Colorado Buffaloes standout and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter.

In college, Hunter was a star at both wide receiver and cornerback, and he has made it clear that he intends to play both ways as a professional as well. Unfortunately for Hunter, one of the league’s most well-respected head coaches doesn’t see a world where Hunter is able to pull off the feat.

“It’s gonna be interesting to see how they do it, wherever he goes,” Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said during a pre-draft press conference, according to Pro Football Talk.

“But to say that you’re gonna be completely immersed in everything that there is to know on offense and everything there is to know on defense. I don’t know if there’s enough hours in the day for a player to be able to do that, and to have every detail locked down.

Fans reacted to Harbaugh on social media.

“He won’t have to worry about it at all. Hunter will be long gone before the Ravens are picking. Seems like the only opinions they matters on which positions he plays are the teams with the first 4 picks of the draft,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“I guess a CB and WR have the same basic talent requirements but one runs routes the other defends routes. CBs have to tackle and WRs have to block on some plays. Comes down to unlimited energy with no rest between possessions. Increases injury risks playing both ways too!” someone else added.

“Saying Travis Hunter cant play both ways is like saying Lamar Jackson is just a RB. You’ll end up with egg on your face,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Hunter is deployed in the pros.
