After Baltimore Ravens star quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a knee injury last month, it was thought he would miss between one and three games but he was expected to be back for the playoffs. However, after missing the last five games of the regular season, Jackson also appears ready to miss Sunday’s Wild Card round game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Both Jackson and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh have been relatively silent regarding the extent of Jackson’s injury, but the quarterback broke that silence on Thursday with a rather detailed tweet explaining the situation.
“Thank you everyone for your support and concerns regarding my injuries,” Jackson said on Twitter. “I want to give you all an update as I am in the recovery process. I’ve suffered a PCL grade 2 sprain on the borderline of a strain 3. There is still inflammation surrounding my knee and my knee remains unstable. I’m still in good spirits, as I continue with treatments on the road to recovery. I wish I could be out there with my guys more than anything but I can’t give a 100% of myself to my guys and fans I’m still hopeful we still have a chance.”
On Friday, Harbaugh was asked about his QB’s tweet. While Jackson is starting to talk a bit more, the head coach continues to consider it an issue not worth discussing.

“No, I didn’t know anything about that and didn’t pay much attention to [it],” Harbaugh said, per NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The coach also said he can’t comment on the specifics of Jackson’s injury, though it sounds like Lamar has let the cat out of the bag.
For now, it sounds like Tyler Huntley will get the start against the Bengals if he’s healthy enough to play.
