It doesn’t seem that long ago that Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Maziel took the college football world by storm en route to winning the Heisman Trophy as a freshman. However, Manziel’s greatness came at a steep cost.
Manziel had off-the-field issues that followed him from his collegiate to what was ultimately a short career in the NFL, including substance abuse. Unfortunately, now another member of the Manziel family has found themselves in a heap of trouble, according to TMZ.
Manziel’s mother, Michelle Manziel, was arrested on Saturday night.
“Manziel was arrested Saturday night in Kerrville, Texas … a town about 65 miles northwest of San Antonio,” the outlet reported.
“We’ve obtained Michelle’s mug shot … no smile, but she does have a look on her face that seems almost shocked to be in the situation.
“Michelle was being held on $7,500 bail (…) though it appears that’s been paid and she’s been released from custody. We’ve reached out to local authorities for more information (…) so far, no word back.”
Michelle’s mugshot, in which she looks nothing short of startled about how things turned out, is currently making the rounds on social media.

Hopefully, whatever crime Manizel committed didn’t result in anyone getting hurt, and she’s able to get the support she needs to turn things around.
