The New York Jets had a miserable season, no matter how you dice it. As the Jets watched former quarterback Aaron Rodgers win the AFC North in his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, they went 3-14 on the year.

After such a disastrous season, the Jets have fired one of thier top assistants, according to one of the most prominent insiders in the league.

The #Jets are parting ways with OC Tanner Engstrand, per me and (Tom Pelissero),” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Tuesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Jets firing Engstrand after one season shows they’re still a mess. Can’t keep coordinators longer than a year and wonder why they can’t develop QB talent. Same old Jets,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Why exactly? Jets offensive personnel wasn’t good at all this year…especially at QB,” another fan added.

“I keep saying Woody should move Aaron Glenn to DC and get an offensive HC. If anyone will take the job,” someone else wrote.

Interestingly enough, the Jets tried to bring in one legendary head coach, but he wanted nothing to do with what was going on in New York.

The #Jets reached out to Jon Gruden about the idea of joining Aaron Glenn’s staff, according to multiple sources. Gruden wasn’t interested in the job,” Zack Rosenblatt reported.

It’ll be interesting to see who Glenn brings in to rebuild his staff.
