It’s no secret that a strong contingent of Pittsburgh Steelers fans want offensive coordinator Matt Canada fired after the team’s struggles on the offensive side of the ball since he’s been running the offense. And if that happens, one longtime Pittsburgh Steelers reporter has a pretty surprising name for someone who could replace him.
During a recent conversation, longtime Pittsburgh Steelers reporter Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was asked who he thought would be a replacement for Matt Canada when he is eventually fired, and he had quite a surprising response, suggesting that head coach Mike Tomlin could hire Jon Gruden.
“Way too early to speculate. But a good one would be a [Mike] Tomlin friend — Jon Gruden,” Dulac said.
Obviously, this would be a controversial move after Gruden resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders under pressure two years ago after leaked emails revealed racist comments. He’s also currently in the middle of a lawsuit against the league.
It would certainly be a wild move from the Steelers, and the NFL world definitely had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

Obviously, this is just speculation, but it’s certainly noteworthy speculation coming from that source.
