Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor won’t be getting traded anytime soon.
The Colts were unable to find a deal for the Pro Bowl running back, who’s become disgruntled of late. Taylor wants to be paid more or to be traded if Indy won’t meet his demands. But as of right now, the team will not trade him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“No deal: Indianapolis did not find what it felt was a fair-value offer for Jonathan Taylor, and it is not trading its All-Pro running back today, league sources tell ESPN,” Schefter said, before noting a key detail.
“With no trade materializing today, Taylor now is expected to remain on the Physically Unable to Perform List, making him ineligible to play the first four games of the season. Taylor now is expected to miss games vs. the Jaguars, at Houston, at Baltimore, and vs. the Rams.”

Two seasons ago, the former Wisconsin standout led the league in several categories. Taylor ranked first in carries, yards, touchdowns, yards per game, and longest run. He saw his numbers decrease last season in an injury-riddled season.
Obviously, it really hasn’t gone the way that Taylor likely envisioned. It’s an unfortunate situation, to say the very least. Especially because Indy’s asking price was so exorbitant that it was obvious he wasn’t going to be moved.
