Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love Jordan Love

The Green Bay Packers will have a new quarterback this season as Jordan Love takes over at the position following the departure of future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And while Love undoubtedly has some big shoes to fill, it sounds like the Packers have faith in him.

This week, Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Tony Clements told reporters that he thinks Jordan Love has all the tools necessary to be a franchise quarterback.

“He can throw the ball, number one,” Clements said according to Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. “Which he needs to do in the NFL. He’s good athletic. He can move around, buy time. And he’s intelligent.

“He generally makes good decisions, and at this point just needs to play, work on processing information, making good decisions, and getting it to the right guy. He has all the qualities you’re looking for in a guy to be successful.”

Love has been with the team for three years but played sparingly. So far in his career, he’s gone 50-of-83 through the air for 606 yards with three touchdowns. Given his limited game experience, it will certainly be interesting to see how he is able to perform this season.
