Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen knows he has a long way to go in his career. So is the star Bill contemplating phasing out an integral part of his game to sustain himself?

Allen is a terrific thrower, but the Bills quarterback has shown a great runner, as well. He’s physical and doesn’t like to avoid contact when he runs either. At times, this excites fans, but it also worries them. What if No. 17 goes down with an injury? Buffalo would be in some significant trouble, and Allen seems to realize this.

He recently said that he might be looking to phase the running out of his game.

“I’ve always had the mindset of, I’ve been a football player first and a quarterback second,” Allen said via USA TODAY For the Win, having talked to media in Buffalo earlier this week. Allen continued, “At some point, that is going to have to switch. When that point is, I don’t know. I guess I’ll let my body tell me.”

Allen isn’t wrong in what he says. His playing style is noticeable and tangible, so his reveal of his POV lines up. At some point, if you believe the man himself, he’ll take diminish the amount of time he runs the ball.

But even if he does, don’t overlook Josh Allen. Because he can beat you with his arm pretty well too.
