Earlier this month, Las Vegas Raiders star wide receiver Davante Adams unleashed some strong words about his current team, making it clear that he doesn’t necessarily trust the offensive scheme or direction the team is taking under head coach Josh McDaniels. But instead of being angry with his player, McDaniels is embracing Adams’ concern.

During a press conference this week, Josh McDaniels made it clear that he supports Adams, saying he’s earned the right to make these comments and that it’s “not really my concern that anybody necessarily adopts every vision that Dave or I have for the decisions that we have to make”

“And I respect the hell out of anything that [he] would say or suggest or anything like that,” McDaniels said according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com. “During the course of the process of trying to improve our team, which, I know where Davante comes from, he’s a competitor. He wants to win, and that’s really his sole focus, and that’s what he does here every day. He’s here pushing himself, pushing his teammates. He’s been a tremendous leader again this spring for our football team.”

It will certainly be interesting to see how if McDaniels is able to use Adams’ criticism constructively this offseason.
