Don’t look now, but the NFL is struggling with logic once again. The league fined Washington cornerback Josh Norman $9,115 for his bow-and-arrow celebration during the Redskins’ Week 4 win against the Cleveland Browns, the same celebration that other players such as New Orleans wide receiver Brandin Cooks use regularly without penalty.

Norman told 106.7 The Fan he thinks the NFL is targeting him because of the high-profile contract he signed during the offseason.

“I think that (if) anything, the eyes have been magnified more so for my contract. I think that has been magnified into what we do and how we do it, and the NFL’s looking more into us and how we do things on a football field.”

Norman said on CSN Mid-Atlantic before the team’s Week 5 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens that he plans to continue using the celebration.

Cooks told The New Orleans Times-Picayune that he plans to continue using the bow-and-arrow celebration despite Norman facing a fine. Although since Cooks has not caught a touchdown since Week 1, it could be a while before we find out how the league reacts.
