Julian Edelman

Former New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman was a staple for the team for most of the past decade, playing with the organization from 2009 to 2020.

Almost the entirety of his career was played with Tom Brady, who surprised everyone this offseason with his announcement of his retirement and then promptly un-retired just a month later.

Edelman was seen working out with Brady this offseason back in March and looked good doing so, raising questions of whether he would consider returning to the NFL to potentially play with him.

He answered that question on Tuesday while at the Sunset Sports Media Festival in Croatia, where he hinted that he may return to a familiar place in the near future.

“I don’t know, we’ll see,” Edelman said when asked if he would return to play with Brady in Tampa Bay. “That’s called a little teaser. We’ll see. We’re staying in shape but you never know. But I’d probably go back to the Patriots. I love the Patriots. Foxborough Forever.”

It is certainly interesting that if he were to return, it appears that he would favor a return to New England over returning to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with Brady.

This could just be Edelman playing this topic up to the media, but a return would certainly be something that Patriots fans would be interested in.

He is currently 36 years old and hasn’t played a snap in the NFL since 2020 after battling chronic knee issues that seemingly played a factor in his retirement, but these comments have at the very least kept the door open for an NFL return in the near future.
