It’s fair to say that the Chicago Bears offense has not been very dominant this season. And those struggles currently have star quarterback Justin Fields seemingly calling out the team’s coaches.
Justin Fields struggled a bit during Sunday afternoon’s 27-17 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, going just 16-for-29 through the air for 211 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions, with just four yards on the ground on three carries.
Fields described his performance on Sunday as “robotic,” explaining that he didn’t feel “free” and felt like he had to think too much on the field. And it sounds like there’s a pretty clear reason why he felt he had to think so much on the field: the coaching.

“You know, could be coaching, I think,” Fields said during the press conference when asked why he felt he had to think so much on the field.
Obviously, these comments from Fields generated a lot of reactions on social media.
oh man, I didn't realize how wild this presser was https://t.co/tvZWcWFuZR

In fairness, I LIKE Fields calling out his coaches. If he thinks the system/structure is holding him back he should absolutely fight for changes. This is his life and livelihood. The next 16 weeks (15 games) have MASSIVE financial ramifications for him.

Justin Fields acknowledged he has been playing too robotic, then bit the pin off the grenade and rolled it into the building with his explanation for why he believes it is that way: "Coaching."
Wow.
A LOT more on that in a bit.

It’s safe to say that Fields is not happy with the way the offense is running so far this season. It will be interesting to see whether or not we see some substantial changes in that regard this season.
