On an already insane day in the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker got carted off the field due to an injury, and safety Justin Reid took over kicking duties for the team.

Not only did Reid make an extra point but he also boomed a kickoff through the endzone.

It shouldn’t be too surprising to NFL fans to see Reid out there booming kicks. During the preseason, the former soccer player went to head coach Andy Reid in practice and asked if he could try it. After that, he made an impressive 65-yard field goal that caught everyone’s attention and made sure the Chiefs know they can rely on him if needed. Good thing too because it looks like the Chiefs are going to need him the rest of the game.

The NFL world had some strong reactions to watching Reid make his extra point and boom the kickoff.

Butker‘s injury also seems to have affected a lot of fantasy league owners who had him as their starting kicker for their team.

Fans of other teams seem to want to inquire about the availability of Reid, particularly the Bengal fans who had a rough day with their own kicker.

As crazy of a day as it has been in the NFL, don’t be surprised if Reid is called upon to kick the game-winner in the Chiefs game. It would be the perfect capper on a pretty wild day.
