Just last year, the New York Giants thought that former Florida Gators star wide receiver Kadarius Toney was worthy of a first-round pick, selecting him with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Now, they’re already parting ways with him in his second season.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Giants are trading Kadarius Toney to the Kansas City Chiefs in return for two draft picks.
Trade: Chiefs trade their conditional 3rd-round pick and 6th-round pick to the Giants for WR Kadarius Toney, per source.

“Trade: Chiefs trade their conditional 3rd-round pick and 6th-round pick to the Giants for WR Kadarius Toney, per source,” Schefter said in a Tweet.
The Giants have reportedly had Toney on their trading block since the spring when they were reportedly shopping the wide receiver to other teams after his commitment to the Giants came into question due to his lack of playbook study and his behavior in team meetings.
With New York deciding to trade their former first-round pick ahead of the 2022 NFL trade deadline, the Chiefs jumped on it, bolstering their offense for what might turn out to be a bargain price. As a result, the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
The Chiefs strategy of stockpiling an endless supply of guys no one can catch/tackle seems more revolutionary than it should. https://t.co/MDPgGfilsA

That seems a bit rich given how often he's been able to be on the field and how good KC's offense has been to this point https://t.co/xHCWThfcHx

if Toney can stay healthy, his skillset is the perfect fit for the #Chiefs offense given his ability to do damage after the catch
he showed some flashes with the #NYG but, ultimately, couldn't stay on the field..appeared in only 12 of a possible 24 games up to this point https://t.co/WT6C8ClJ0s

And the Chiefs will get everything they can out of him because of course they will. https://t.co/nIrpzMvtj2

Toney can't stay healthy (has played in 12-of-24 games since being drafted last year) and had only 2 catches this year.
So regardless of his status as a 1st-round pick under the prior regime, made sense for the Giants to take what they could get at this point. https://t.co/IxMC3j2LUP

An insane talent who will be boom (the next Tyreek and then some) or bust (perpetually injured). https://t.co/gfFMfYVPS6

not excited for this guy to suddenly become reliably healthy https://t.co/s3AvZcce5N

If Toney can stay healthy, he could prove to be a huge asset for the Chiefs’ offense going forward.
