Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes will not be 100 percent against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Chiefs owner Clark Hunt became the latest franchise official to confirm that Mahomes will remain hobbled in the biggest game of the season.

“The great thing is Patrick’s a very fast healer, and he was able to get ready to play the AFC Championship game, you know, in a week on that high ankle sprain and did just an amazing job, including making the pivotal play at the end of the game that helped us win it on his legs,” Hunt told Fox News, per Pro Football Talk. “He’s doing great this week. I don’t know that he’ll be 100 percent, but he sure isn’t going to tell you otherwise.”

Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Jan. 21st. Mahomes weathered the injury to play the entire AFC championship game against Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Only time will tell how the injury affects Mahomes heading into the Super Bowl. Oddsmakers in Las Vegas currently list Mahomes and the Chiefs as 1.5-point underdogs against the Eagles.
