New court documents released in the ongoing case against Jackson Mahomes, brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, shed further details on how the arrest came to be.

Police initially responded to Aspens Restaurant on Feb. 23rd, 2023, after a report that Mahomes shoved an employee.

“The employee told investigators Mahomes shoved him when he tried to get his water bottle from the restaurant’s office,” Heidi Schmidt of FOX4KC wrote. “He entered the key code to unlock the office, but Jackson Mahomes allegedly shoved him as soon as he opened the door, according to the court document.”

Surveillance video from the restaurant confirmed the battery accusation against Jackson.

Mahomed tried apologizing to the employee later in the evening but told the employee that if he (Mahomes) was in a room at the restaurant, it was off limits, according to the affidavit.

The charges became more serious against Mahomes when police interviewed the restaurant’s owner.

“The owner told investigators Jackson Mahomes wanted to talk to her, so the two went to the office. She said Jackson Mahomes closed the door. Once they were in the office together the owner alleges Jackson Mahomes grabbed her by the throat, forced her head back and kissed her three different times according to the affidavit,” Schmidt wrote.

According to the court documents, after she shoved Mahomes away, he told her not to tell anyone about the incident.

Mahomes is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
