Patrick Mahomes Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already clearly on the course to be one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. And it seems like the Chiefs clearly see that, restructuring his contract which will earn him a historic amount for the next three seasons.

Mahomes is under contract with the Chiefs for the next four seasons with the 2023 season included. And that money will now be fully guaranteed for the remainder of his contract.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs have restructured Mahomes’ contract, and he will now receive $210.6 million between 2023 to 2026. This is the most money that any player has ever received over a four-year span, and the Chiefs will revisit the agreement again after the 2026 season.

It’s obviously a ridiculous amount of money that Mahomes will be getting over the next four years. But if anyone deserves it, it is Mahomes considering how much value he brings to the Chiefs organization.

Fans offered their opinion on this news and seem to believe that it is money well spent by the Chiefs organization.

Mahomes will now be making slightly more than Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow for the next four seasons, who received the biggest contract in NFL history at the start of the 2023 season.

Considering he has brought the Chiefs organization two Super Bowl championships in his tenure with the team, they can certainly bite the bullet and pay him what he rightfully deserves for the foreseeable future.
