As long as star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is playing, the Kansas City Chiefs are a threat to win it all. Still, the superstar quarterback can’t do everything alone. Knowing this, the Chiefs made sure to load up on talent around Mahomes to make his life easier.

“I think it’s gonna come from everywhere,” Mahomes said of his teammates earlier this offseason. “Obviously, you’ve got Rashee being back. He looks great. You have Xavier Worthy, who came on so strong at the end of last year. You have Hollywood Brown healthy again. Guys everywhere.

“You add in Travis Kelce, a Hall of Famer. Noah Gray, a great tight end, and everybody that we’ve added to all those different rooms. We have so many weapons. Let’s go out there and just maximize it all. It’s not gonna be just one person. It’s gonna be the entire offense going out there and showcasing what the Kansas City Chiefs truly are.”

Unfortunately, one of those teammates has suffered a brutal head injury in training camp.

“Chiefs WR Xavier Worthy, who left yesterday’s practice after banging his head, is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, per coach Andy Reid,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“The Super Bowl hangover is in effect,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Worthy, Brown and Moore all injured in one practice,” another fan noted.

“If the man returned to practice after hitting his head this is hopefully just the chiefs being cautious (very smart) and not anything serious. Hope he and everyone are okay,” one fan added.

Hopefully, Worthy doesn’t rush his return and focuses on making a full recovery before putting his long-term health at risk.
