The Carolina Panthers are looking for a new, full-time head coach after firing head coach Matt Rhule earlier this season, and it looks like the team is keying in on a potential replacement following the end of the 2022 NFL season.

According to Dallas Cowboys reporter Todd Archer of ESPN, the Panthers are planning to interview Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore.

“The Carolina Panthers have requested permission to interview Cowboys OC Kellen Moore for their head coach opening, per multiple sources. Moore interviewed with Miami and Jacksonville last year,” Archer said in a tweet.

It’s pretty big news in the league, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

“The Panthers have now requested permission to interview three of the four offensive coordinators in the NFC East: Kellen Moore (Cowboys), Mike Kafka (Giants) and Shane Steichen (Eagles). The fourth, Scott Turner, was fired by Washington yesterday,” NFC East reporter Ralph Vacchiano said in a tweet.

“Offense clearly on Tepper’s mind. Can’t particularly say I blame him,” Ralph Reed of the Associated Press said in a tweet.

“The search for an offensive-minded head coach expands,” Cowboys reporter David Newton said in a tweet.

“Panthers add another offensive minded coach to their search,” Panthers on Tap said in a tweet.

The NFL world will now wait to see how this situation plays out.
