The Cleveland Browns aren’t expected to be very good this season. However, once the Browns know who their starting quarterback is, the clarity could go a long way toward ironing out the small details that win games on the margins, which could help Cleveland shock its biggest pundits and detractors.
The Browns opened training camp with four quarterbacks vying for the job: Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders. With three of those four accumulating minor injuries over the course of training camp, the Browns are adding another into the mix in Tyler Huntley.
Now, head coach Kevin Stefanski has made his final decision on determining who will be leading the offense this season, according to one prominent Cleveland insider.
“Browns Kevin Stefanski said he’s thinking about when to name his Week 1 starter, and will decide after this Philly trip when to announce it,” reported Mary Kay Cabot.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“It’s gonna be Joe, now we all care about shedeur being moved up to #2,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“You’re just letting everyone get hyped up for no reason. You didn’t bring Flacco back to not get us started. Week 1-6 is Joe forsure (if healthy). I think we see Sanders week 7,” one fan added.
“Because the juggernaut 3-14 browns need to be secretive to throw off the league, lol just name flacco the starter and be done with it,” one fan wrote.
It’ll be interesting to see if Stefanski throws a curveball and names someone other than Flacco as the starter.
