Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins threw a hilarious interception against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. The replay showed that Cousins’ decision to make the throw was a bit more understandable, with star wide receiver Justin Jefferson falling down on his route (after what could’ve been a holding call on the Bears), but the play ultimately looked like an arm punt- and the easiest interception Bears safety Deon Bush will ever have.

if you only caught this snippet of that kirk cousins interception you’d prob be confused as to why the vikings clearly punted it on 3rd & 9 pic.twitter.com/ojGk4dfjAE

So it’s not surprising that this bizarre, very funny play confused the NextGenStats engine. Here’s how the play looked on NextGenStats, via Bill Barnwell (No. 18 in white is Jefferson, while No. 26 in black is Bush):
Next Gen doesn't know what to do with this pass. It assigns it a –% probability of being completed. That seems generous. pic.twitter.com/SDJLGddaN9
