New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski once missed a free throw in a high school basketball game, just so his team could have 69 points. While briefly serving as a reporter for the Daytona 500 on Fox last Februrary, Gronkowski tried very hard to get a Monster Energy girl to say “69” on live television. The stories go on and on like this. Gronk is very, very into the number 69.

So it should not at all surprise you that Gronkowski invited exactly 69 family members and friends to the Patriots-Eagles Super Bowl on Sunday in Minnesota. It was announced on Gronk’s official website.

Gronk gonna Gronk.

The bigger story with Gronk is about his status for the Super Bowl after suffering a concussion in the AFC Championship Game. The superstar tight end was officially cleared from concussion protocol on Thursday and is good to go for the game. That’s certainly outstanding news for the Patriots.
