It became clear earlier in the week that the Baltimore Ravens would be without star quarterback Lamar Jackson as he continued to rehab a leg injury that he suffered last month and apparently took much longer to heal than originally expected.

Jackson addressed his injury himself this week, saying “I wish I could be out there with my guys more than anything” in a message that seemed to catch head coach John Harbaugh off guard. But in a decision that caught many in the NFL world off guard, he didn’t even travel with the Ravens to Cincinnati for the playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

And people had plenty to say about that decision.

“Um, Lamar didn’t even travel with the team?” Dan Hanzus of The NFL Network said in a tweet.

“that is actually pretty wild,” AWLSabermetrics said in a tweet.

“Lamar Jackson has played his last snap as a Baltimore Raven,” predicted Tennessee Titans writer Easton Freeze on Twitter.

“That’s wild man, come on,” B1G Ryan of Meet at Midfield said in a tweet.

“Someone’s gonna give Lamar an entire bank vault and the Ravens are gonna look absolutely foolish for letting him walk,” Wailele Sallas said on Twitter.

Lamar Jackson has taken a lot of heat for missing this game with a teammate blasting him this week, former star quarterback Michael Vick telling him to “put a brace on it,” and running back J.K. Dobbins suggesting that the team would have won if Jackson had played.

Jackson’s future with the team is certainly something to watch in the coming weeks.
