During Sunday afternoon’s game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence made some NFL history. Unfortunately for him, he’ll be entering that history book for all the wrong reasons.

Sunday’s game was quite wet with rain throughout the contest, and nobody was affected by the elements more than Lawrence. During Sunday’s game, Lawrence fumbled four separate times. And all four times, that fumble was recovered by a member of the opposing team.

“Trevor Lawrence lost 4 fumbles today. He’s the first player this century to lose 4 fumbles in a game,” ESPN Stats and Info shared in a Tweet.

To be fair to Lawrence, not all of the fumbles were necessarily his fault. One happened as a result of a botched snap, two came when he had the ball knocked out of his hands in the pocket, and one time the ball slipped out his hands while scrambling.

Still, it was a regretful stat line that had the NFL world laughing at the second-year quarterback after the game.

Ultimately, the Jaguars fell to the Eagles by a score of 29-21, partially due to Lawrence’s turnovers. He’ll have a chance to make up for it next week against the Houston Texans where he’ll hope to hold onto the ball.
