Many people have wondered why Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is not a head coach after interviewing for so many head coaching positions over the past few years despite having so much success.
Former Kansas City Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy thinks he knows why Bieniemy isn’t a head coach. McCoy thinks that Bieniemy can be disrespectful to players.

“This is the reason why every year they keep hyping him up to get a coaching job, a head coach or offensive coordinator job, and he doesn’t get one,” McCoy said on SiriusXM’s “I Am Athlete Tonight.” “Some players, he talks to them a certain way, and some players will take it. I wouldn’t take it.
“Every year, they hype him up to get a job, and then when the time comes, nobody hires him because they know what type of coach he really is.”
McCoy had a shaky relationship with Bieniemy, which may explain why he had such a negative response to the Chiefs offensive coordinator who has been praised by other Chiefs players and head coach Andy Reid, who think he is deserving of a head coaching job.
From Andy Reid: “[LeSean McCoy] wasn’t the youngest pup in the kennel here (in Kansas City). He was on the back side [of his career] — and sometimes that’s hard to take.” https://t.co/UmVZbIfnyK

“[LeSean McCoy] wasn’t the youngest pup in the kennel here,” said Reid when asked about McCoy’s comments. “He was on the back side [of his career] – and sometimes that’s hard to take.”
Some people also think that Bieniemy hasn’t gotten a head coaching position because of his past history of arrest on several different charges years ago.
