The Detroit Lions appear very confident in their group, and that confidence is especially true around quarterback Jared Goff. Lions head coach Dan Campbell heaped praise on his QB, as Campbell believes that this is the best we’ve seen from the former No. 1 pick.

The Detroit head coach said that he thinks Goff is better than he was when he was quarterback of the Los Angeles Rams. In 2021, the Rams and Lions agreed to a blockbuster trade that sent Goff to Detroit and sent former top pick Matthew Stafford to LA. Stafford won a Super Bowl with the Rams in his first season while Goff and the Lions have fought to get back to the playoffs. They almost made it last year, and by the sound of it, it seems Campbell thinks he’s even more equipped now to handle that pressure.

“I mean he’s a better quarterback than he was there, in my opinion,” Campbell said, via NFL.com. He continued, saying his belief came from the fact that “He can do more things, he’s mentally on it. I mean, we’ve come light-years ahead of where he was two years ago when we walked in to start teaching him protections. He really dove into that, and he’s got a really good grasp of what we’re doing, where the issues are, what the problems are, and that’s something that we really wanted him to get good at, and he wanted to get good at. And he’s worked at it and he’s improved, so that helps too.”

The Lions have a lot of hype this year, so it’ll be interesting to see if Jared Goff can answer the bell.
