The Detroit Lions are looking to repeat as NFC North champions and secure the number one overall seed in the conference for the second year in a row. However, Detroit wants to make a deeper playoff run this season, after being bounced by the Washington Commanders in the divisional round last year.

The Lions are hopeful that a healthy Aidan Hutchinson will go a long way toward making that a reality, and head coach Dan Campbell spoke about what having his star pass rusher back has been like.

“Any time you see one of your guys who, you know what he brings to your team, you know what he brings on the field, the production, the energy, the violence, it does give you a little boost, a little lift,” Campbell said, according to Pro Football Talk.

“For me, it’s just good to see his confidence back in himself. That’s good to see. You can tell he has a lot of faith in where he’s at right now, how it feels, the way he moves, the way he bends, the way he’s coming off the edge, and that’s after only two days. So it’s pretty exciting. It’s pretty exciting. Good to have him back.”

The Lions and Hutchinson still have to prove on themselves on the field, but the star’s presence alone should be a boon to the entire locker room and franchise.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Lions can continue their current run of success, which has been arguably the best in franchise history.
