The Tennessee Titans got some bad news during Sunday afternoon’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers when starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill suffered a major ankle injury, apparently re-aggravating an injury that sidelined him earlier in the season. Though Tannehill did return to the game, it does not look like he’ll be playing for the team for the rest of the season as the injury will require surgery.

With Ryan Tannehill out, the Titans will now turn to rookie quarterback Malik Willis as they continue their playoff push. And even though he doesn’t have a ton of experience, he thinks the experience he does have will help him.

“I think the previous experience helped a lot, as far as just knowing what it takes and knowing what your routine is going to be in order to prepare,” Willis said according to the Tennessee Titans team website. “It’s different every week, who we play. But the way you prepare is the same mostly. It’s just understanding what it takes and going out there every day. Now I get the reps a little more, and it’s just about going out there and getting better.”

The good news for Malik Willis is that the Titans will take on the Houston Texans this week, who have the worst record in the NFL.
