Marcell Dareus

There are times when an NFL player sends out some awful tweets and updates on Facebook or Instagram, only to lock the account into a private setting afterward and claim his account was hacked. Few people ever truly believe that, but in the case of Marcel Dareus of the Buffalo Bills, it looks as though we have a true, bonafide hacking situation on our hands!

Dareus’ Instagram account appeared to be the victim of a hacking after an image of Dareus was posted with a comment attached under his profile ripping the Bills and and claiming to “love weed,” which he then said he smoked every day of the season. The caption then proceeded to rip Bills head coach Rex Ryan, and went to town ripping just about anyone imaginable, including Bills fans and their children. The hacked post then goes on to say he is resigning in bizarre fashion.

The dead giveaway is the over-the-top attitude in this update. Even the most out-of-line online rant by a player would probably have a line that is not crossed at some point. There appeared to be none in place here, which is why it seems safe to suggest Dareus is likely off the hook here. Dareus did claim on Twitter he had been hacked, and we’re inclined to believe him.

Regardless, something like this must have sent a jolt through the Bills front office this morning once the hacked post started to make the rounds.
