49ers’ receiver Marquise Goodwin’s baby son passed away Sunday morning, just hours before he played

The San Francisco 49ers recorded their first win of the 2017 NFL season Sunday with a 31-21 win over the New York Giants, and that was helped considerably by receiver Marquise Goodwin’s 83-yard touchdown catch. But it turns out Goodwin had much more on his mind than just football, and that helps explain why his touchdown celebration of sinking to his knees was so emotional. After the game, Goodwin posted on Instagram that he and his wife Morgan lost their baby son around 4 a.m. Sunday morning, thanks to pregnancy complications that led to the baby being born prematurely. I just wanna thank those who’ve genuinely prayed for @morganakamomo & myself through out this pregnancy. Unfortunately we lost our baby boy due to some complications, and had to prematurely deliver him early this morning around 4am. Although we are hurt, I am grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan. The pain (physically, mentally, & emotionally) that she has endured is unbelievable. Please Pray for the Goodwin family. ??
