The Cleveland Browns and receiver Marquise Goodwin made a stunning and scary reveal on Friday. Cleveland announced that they placed Goodwin on the non-football injury list. The receiver will be treated for blood clots in both his legs and lungs.

Goodwin told the team that he experienced discomfort in his legs and shortness of breath during practice. That led to an examination where doctors eventually discovered the blood clots.

Goodwin talked about the health scare with Browns.com:

“It was really alarming at first because I’ve experienced injury throughout my career, but it’s never been anything like this that could turn into something detrimental if it’s not taken care of,” he said. “It was frightening at first, but now I’m at ease with it. I’ve prayed and just given it over to God. It’s out of my control, and the only thing I can control is my effort and attitude and how I approach each day moving forward.”

Blood clots are an incredibly scary thing, so it’s great that he’s going to receive treatment and that he’s at ease as well. He told Browns.com that he hopes to still be a supportive teammate.

Speaking of support, the former Texas standout received an outpour of support. Dozens flocked to wish the receiver well as he undergoes treatment and hopes to get off the NFI list soon. But health comes first, so we wish Marquise Goodwin well in his recovery process.
