Marshawn Lynch

Marshawn Lynch made headlines for the wrong reasons on Tuesday morning when the former NFL star running back was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. On Friday, police body camera footage of the Super Bowl champion’s arrest was revealed.

The video shows officers pulling Lynch from his car early Tuesday morning.

“What’s the problem?” Lynch asks police in the video. He also told police that “everything is understandable” but did not comply with requests to get out of the vehicle.

The body camera footage is consistent with police reports that Lynch was less-than cooperative with Las Vegas police during the incident.

“Lynch was not cooperative or willing to comply with the Search Warrant and corrections officers from the City of Las Vegas had to use a restraint chair to force a blood draw,” according to the police report via Fox13.

Lynch’s attorneys, however, maintain that Lynch was not guilty of driving under the influence since the vehicle was “safely parked and not in operation,” even though Lynch was intoxicated.

“Marshawn was not pulled over for a DUI. Rather the vehicle was safely parked and not in operation,” the attorneys said in a statement, according to Fox13. “We are confident that when all evidence is presented, this will not be a DUI under Nevada law. Marshawn appreciates and is thankful for everyone’s concern and support.”
