Former Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy was let go by the team after a disappointing 6-11 season. However, it appears that Nagy’s past relationships are helping him in a huge way when it comes to finding new employment.
On Friday, Adam Schefter reported that the Kansas City Chiefs are bringing him on as their senior assistant and quarterbacks coach.
Chiefs hired Matt Nagy as Senior Assistant/Quarterbacks Coach.

Nagy got his start for the Philadelphia Eagles under then-head coach Andy Reid and followed him to Kansas City as his quarterbacks’ coach, eventually becoming offensive coordinator before signing with the Bears.
While Nagy certainly did well as an assistant, his tenure ended terribly with the Bears. Many are now questioning the Chiefs’ decision to bring him back.

Though many are criticizing the move, there are some out there who believe it could be good to bring him on, especially in a far reduced role compared to the one he had in Chicago.
Give it 3 years and he’ll be a HC again. Watch. https://t.co/dQG4h1naLc

I’m perfectly fine with him being the quarterbacks coach. Eric Bieniemy will be the OC and we’ll be fine. https://t.co/GUe1UQgzsl

Actually love this. Thought this was a legit possibility and glad to see it get done https://t.co/U8Tml7HU2T

While some criticize the Chiefs for this move, the team had success with Nagy in that role previously. Plus, quarterback Patrick Mahomes is already well-developed and thriving, so Nagy won’t have to worry about building him up in any way like he had to do with the Bears. That said, it will certainly be interesting to see what kind of an impact he has on Kansas City moving forward.
