NFL players put their well-being on the line every time they step onto a football field, as we saw earlier this season when Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a scary concussion that had some neurologists even suggesting that he should walk away from the game forever. And after news that Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was in concussion protocol, his wife Kelly Stafford shared some honest thoughts.

In a post shared to her Instagram stories, Kelly Stafford got very candid about what she was feeling related to her husband’s diagnosis.

“If you follow NFL, you just heard Matthew got put into concussion protocol,” Kelly Stafford wrote on her Instagram Stories. “If you have listened to my podcast at all, you know how big a deal it is to me. The head is not something to be messed with … and I hope as this sport develops so does the concern for head health and the research around it.”

Kelly Stafford revealed that she is personally feeling many emotions after her husband’s diagnosis, saying that she is “not ok.”

“And no, I’m not ok,” Kelly Stafford said. “I have every emotion running through me. Concerned, angry, sad, tired… all of them.”

As for Matthew Stafford, he has not yet been ruled out of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
