Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is all but the heir-apparent to legendary quarterback Tom Brady, who has an unrivaled seven Super Bowl rings as a starting quarterback. Mahomes came up short in his bid for his fourth Super Bowl victory ( and third in a row) when the Chiefs fell short to the Philadelphia Eagles in embarrassing fashion.
Still, as horribly as last season ended for the Chiefs, one of Mahomes’ biggest rivals in the NFL and a constant thorn in his side has heaped high praise on him.
“It’s ultimate respect when it comes to them,” Las Vegas Raiders defensive lineman Maxx Crosby said about the Chiefs, according to Pro Football Talk. “They’ve earned it. They’ve won three Super Bowls, they’ve got the best quarterback in football. But for us, as a pass rusher, I’m going against the best quarterback. For me, I believe I’m the best pass rusher in the world, so every time we match up it’s match made in heaven.”
Fans reacted to Crosby’s proclamation on social media.
“Crosby isn’t even top 5. Claims he wants to win yet took the bag instead. Worst team in the division,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Hasn’t been even close to the best QB for 2 years,” another fan added.
“Yeah Crosby doesn’t make my top 5,” another fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Mahomes or Crosby comes out victorious when the two face each other in the upcoming season.
