The Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs first-string offense struggled on Friday night against the Arizona Cardinals, with Mahomes even throwing a red-zone interception. Hey, it’s the preseason, and we know that Mahomes will be just fine (and is the favorite to be NFL MVP).

But one of Mahomes’ weapons on offense was very productive with backup quarterback Chad Henne, at least.

Third-year wide receiver Mecole Hardman made an incredible catch for a touchdown pass from Henne late in the second quarter. Hardman made a great adjustment and showed off strong hands to reel in a pass that appeared headed for the turf.

Hardman also had this catch downfield to set up the touchdown:

We know that Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce will be a huge part of the passing game for Mahomes, but Hardman is capable of making a big jump in his third season. Hardman had 41 receptions for 560 yards (13.7 AVG) and four touchdowns in 2020.
