Just one year after Raheem Mostert led the NFL in touchdowns and made the Pro Bowl, it sounds like the Miami Dolphins have decided to cut him.
On Friday afternoon, NFL agent Brett Tessler announced that the Miami Dolphins were planning to cut his client, Raheem Mostert.
“Looks like my client Raheem Mostert will be playing elsewhere next season. Very thankful for his time with the Miami Dolphins, and this gives them a chance to get younger and gives him a chance to pursue a ring elsewhere,” Tessler said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
While Mostert was one of the most dominant running backs in the entire league during the 2024 NFL season, leading the league with 19 rushing touchdowns and 21 total touchdowns, he took a backseat to young star running back De’Von Achane during the 2024 season.
Though Mostert appeared in 13 games for the Dolphins in 2024, he only made one start and finished the season with just 278 yards rushing with two touchdowns along with 19 catches for 161 yards.
Mostert, now 32 years old, will now become a free agent next month and will likely finish his NFL career elsewhere.
The Dolphins, meanwhile, are set to move forward with Achane as their feature back for the foreseeable future.
