Green Bay Packers Helmets are shown during the fourth quarter of their preseason game Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Green Bay Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks 20-7.

The Green Bay Packers saw its season in brutal fashion to its bitter rivals, the Chicago Bears, in the Wild Card round of the playoffs last year. Packers fans were left wondering what could’ve been if star pass rusher Micah Parsons were healthy as they watched Bears quarterback Caleb Williams pull off play after play in the miraculous comeback.

There was some hope that Parsons, who is working his way back from a torn ACL, would be ready to go for Week 1 of the season. Unfortunately, things to do not appear to be trending in that direction.

“Packers DE Micah Parsons is a “candidate to be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform List” to start the season as he completes his recovery from a torn ACL last December,” reported Yahoo Sports on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Honestly feel bad for bro. His team will suck without him,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“If Micah Parsons starts the season on PUP, he would be coming off of it at the earliest for the Week 5 Bears @ Packers game With ramp-up, Packers may limit his snaps in that game,” one fan noted.

“It’s crazy that Parsons and Mahomes tore their left ACLs the same week and the Chiefs are starting their season with two primetime games and Parsons may be starting on the PUP. (QB vs. EDGE is wildly different, of course. Just a unique pair of cases to monitor side-by-side,” someone else added.

Hopefully, Parsons can recapture his game-breaking form when he returns to the field.
