There once was a time with New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was one of the most dominant wide receivers in the entire NFL, even signing a deal in 2019 to become the highest-paid wide receiver in the history of the league. Unfortunately for him, some injuries have kept him off the field the past few seasons, but it sounds like the Saints still have high expectations for him.

Even though Thomas has only played 10 games over the past three seasons, New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis thinks Thomas is still capable of performing like he did a few years ago when he tallied over 100 catches in three consecutive seasons.

“Absolutely he can be,” Loomis said according to John Hendrix of SI.com. “Just got to get him healthy. He’s worked so hard at that over the last two, three years and, look, the results haven’t been good as we all hoped, but it’s not because of a lack of effort or desire by him, that’s for sure.”

If Thomas can get healthy and stay healthy, it would be a big boost to the New Orleans Saints offense that just added veteran quarterback Derek Carr and boasts talented young receiver Chris Olave opposite of Thomas.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Thomas is able to perform this season.
