During Sunday afternoon’s game between the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens, Miami tight end made a highlight play in the third quarter when he got behind the Baltimore defense and caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It was a pretty play, but his celebration dance certainly was not.

After his score, Gesicki tried to hit the “griddy,” a dance that’s become popular on social media and is a favorite celebration of many NFL players, especially Cincinnati Bengals’ receiver Ja’Marr Chase. But when Gesicki gave it a try on Sunday afternoon, it did not go over well.

Instead of a clean celebration, Gesicki just looked awkward. Barstool Sports blasted him for it, saying “Mike Gesicki just made every dad proud with his griddy celebration.

Following the game, Gesicki wasn’t shy about admitting to his cringeworthy dance attempt.

“Man, it looked so much better in my room in front of the mirror. Back to work tonight when I get home,” Gesicki said in a Tweet after the game.

Gesicki will definitely need more practice before he pulls out this dance again. But at least his team won, pulling off a 28-point fourth quarter to beat the Ravens in Baltimore.
