The Pittsburgh Steelers are still awaiting Aaron Rodgers decision on whether he’ll play another season or call it a career and retire. However, while most assumed Rodgers would return to the Steelers, his name has frequently come up in connection with the Arizona Cardinals.

Cardinals wide receiver Kendrick Bourne even tweeted at Rodger, telling the four-time MVP to “come on,” and that the franchise was waiting on him.

Shockingly, new Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur isn’t giving Rodgers much mind.

“Right now we’re focused on the guys that we’ve got coming in,” LaFleur said on the Jim Rome Show. “You got the unit we have with Gardner [Minshew], Jacoby, and [Kedon] Slovis. And then we draft Carson Beck in the third round. He will be here on Thursday, finally. We’re trying to do some Zoom stuff. So we’ve got a room we’re excited to work with, and that’s solely where my focus is.”

The NFL community reacted to the Rodgers-Cardinals situation on social media.

“Hmmmm. Very corporate answer that never had him say ‘no,'” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“You know it’s heating up when Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur responds to the rumors,” someone else added.

“This makes no sense. This would make no sense. Why in the blue hell would Aaron Rodgers go to a Lafleur-led team in Arizona that allegedly has worse facilities than the Pittsburgh Steelers?”

It’ll be interesting to see how the situation shakes out.
