Mike McCarthy

Sunday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field. This is the first time that former Packers head coach Mike McCarthy has returned to face his former team in Green Bay.

McCarthy led the Packers to the Super Bowl back in 2010, which has been Aaron Rodgers‘s only Super Bowl win and last appearance in the championship game.

Going into this game, the Cowboys have lost to the Packers the last few times the teams have played and they are hoping to change that Sunday afternoon. The Cowboys know, however, despite the Packers’ struggles this season, they still have Rodgers and anything can happen.

McCarthy said earlier this week how he is looking forward to seeing his former quarterback again.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing Aaron,” McCarthy told reporters. “We’ve had great communication. I have nothing but love and gratitude for him. We had some great times, great moments. He made me a much better coach.’’

McCarthy may feel differently if his 6-2 Cowboys don’t take care of business Sunday afternoon.

Fans around the league are reacting to McCarthy’s return to Green Bay, particularly his attire just before the game. Comments varied as some weren’t too complimentary while others thought it was a great tribute to Vince Lombardi.

Most Packer and Cowboy fans seem to appreciate McCarthy’s tribute to the late Lombardi.
