Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is one of the hottest commodities in the NFL after Sunday’s debut in which his team dismantled Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. The wunderkind is also known for his ability to relate to the media, which he showcased today at his weekly press conference.

Per NFL Network reporter Andrew Siciliano, one secret to McDaniel‘s success might be showering more than once every four days, as was his ritual as a longtime assistant coach under San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Most people would probably agree that best hygiene practices dictate the need for more than a shower a week. But most people are not NFL coaches, it is hard to argue with McDaniel’s recipe. He has risen through the ranks after starting as a coaching intern with the Denver Broncos in 2006.

At roughly 1.5 showers a week, McDaniel only needed 1,248 showers to achieve head coaching status.

He is still only 39 years old, which makes him the third youngest head coach in the league behind Sean McVay (36) of the Los Angeles Rams and Kevin McConnell (36) of the Minnesota Vikings.

The Miami Dolphins are next in action Sunday on the road against the Baltimore Ravens.
