Never one to mince words, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin offer his unique perspective on rookie running back Jaylen Warren’s play in Sunday’s overtime victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tomlin gave the wideout some interesting praise.

“You know, he didn’t urinate down his leg,” Tomlin said of Warren while cracking a smile. “That’s a great place to begin. And that’s capable of happening for a young guy. But I think that’s been indicative of him throughout this process. And that’s why he’s gone from being an undrafted guy to a guy that’s carving a roll out for himself because it at no step in team development did he show that circumstances were too big for him.

“He was competitive, and he’s been competitive. And he was on Sunday, and so good for him and good for us.”

Warren had to step in for the injured Najee Harris who had left the game because of an ankle sprain. Warren didn’t contribute much yardage-wise (he only had seven yards on three attempts) but the coach still was impressed by his production.

Warren rushed for over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns for Oklahoma State and could become a valuable asset if Harris is not able to return soon.
